Frequently asked questions
Questions about this subject
What is the difference between Seveso and ARIE?
Seveso applies to companies with the largest quantities of hazardous substances, based on a European directive. ARIE applies to companies with hazardous substances that are just below the Seveso threshold, under the Working Conditions Decree. Both regulations have their own threshold values and obligations.
Which laws apply to external security?
The main frameworks are the Environmental Code, the Decision on Activities and the Living Environment (BAL), the Working Conditions Act (for ARIE), the Seveso III decision, the PGS guidelines (including PGS15) and the ADR for transport. Which of these apply depends on the substances and quantities in your company.
