Guidance

What is environmental guidance?

Environmental guidance (MKB) is required during excavation, remediation and earthworks. The supervisor monitors the excavation boundaries during soil remediation, ensures that no mixing of clean and contaminated soil occurs, and ensures that the work is carried out in accordance with the plan and regulations.

Our strengths

At Buro Antares, our field workers are also recognized environmental consultants.

The people who carried out the soil testing at the front also work on the construction site. They know the pollution situation like no other and quickly take action when something unexpected arises.

Which protocols do we use?

  • Protocol 6005: guidance on digging and remediation by excavation
  • Protocol 6006: guidance for in situ remediation and groundwater remediation
  • Protocol 6007: guidance on temporary land extraction

Our approach

What do we do on the construction site?

From the excavation stage to the final decision.

01. Defining excavation boundaries

During the excavation, we determine which soil is contaminated and needs to be removed, and which clean soil can remain in place or be reused. This is done based on field observations and additional sample collection.

02. Assessing the land released

Discharged soil flows are evaluated for reusability. Clean soil can remain on-site or be used elsewhere. Contaminated soil is sent to a processor.

03. Determining the final situation

Afterwards, we sample the well walls and well bottom to verify that the remediation goal has been achieved. Our final report forms the basis for the final decision of the competent authority.

Get in touch
Is environmental guidance legally required?

In remediation work under the Soil Quality Decree, environmental guidance by an accredited company is mandatory. Guidance is also required for earthworks within contaminated areas.

Do you work with the contractor or for the client?

We work on behalf of the client, but in close collaboration with the renovating contractor. Often that is Verhoeve, our sister company within Aurora Group. We can also work well with external contractors.

What happens in the event of unexpected contamination?

Our field workers work directly with the project team. Thanks to the short lines of communication between research and support, we can quickly develop an additional plan without the work coming to a standstill for long.
